Questions

What people ask before a home visit.

Have a question that isn’t here? Give us a call.

Call 623-440-7717
How much does a home visit cost?

Your vaccine is billed to your insurance. There’s also a flat home-visit service fee, based on the distance from our pharmacy at 6601 W Bethany Home Rd, Glendale: $40 if you’re up to 5 miles away, or $65 if you’re more than 5 and up to 15 miles away. We’ll confirm your fee when we call, before anything is booked. Group homes: if more than 5 residents at the same group home get vaccinated during one visit, the home visit is free, with no service fee. Each person’s vaccine is still billed to their insurance.

Does insurance cover the vaccine?

We bill your vaccine to your insurance. We accept most major plans, including AHCCCS plans. Coverage, copays and deductibles depend on your plan, so we check before your visit and go over any costs with you. The home-visit service fee is separate from your vaccine coverage.

What if I live more than 15 miles away?

Please call us at 623-440-7717. We may not be able to visit, but we’re happy to talk through your options.

Do I have to be completely homebound?

No. If getting to a pharmacy is hard for you because of your health, mobility, memory, caregiving or transportation, you can request a visit.

How soon can a pharmacist come?

It depends on our schedule and vaccine supply. When we call, we’ll offer the soonest time we have. Fall is the busiest season, so it helps to ask early.

What should I have ready?

We’ll tell you when we call. Usually it’s your insurance card, a photo ID and a list of the medicines you take.

Who gives the vaccine?

A licensed pharmacist from Bethany Home Discount Pharmacy, the pharmacy that provides At Home Vaccines. Before any vaccine, the pharmacist goes over screening questions and a consent form with the patient or their legal representative.

Can you vaccinate residents of a group home or care facility?

Yes. We offer vaccinations for group homes and long-term care facilities. Group homes with more than 5 people getting vaccines can get a free visit. See How much does a home visit cost? Choose “A facility or group home” on the form, or call us.

What happens to the information I send?

We use it only to contact you about your request and plan your visit. We never sell it. Read our Privacy Policy for details.
